io consulting signed a non-exclusive Owner’s Engineering Master Services Agreement (MSA) with Holcim to support carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) projects across cement facilities in the European Union and the United Kingdom.

The agreement covers 14 projects, including eight supported by the European Innovation Fund. This programme forms part of Holcim’s strategy to decarbonise cement production and scale carbon capture technologies in support of its net-zero ambitions.

Under the agreement, io consulting will provide Owner’s Engineering services, including engineering oversight, project management, and engineering integration. This scope will support the progression of projects from early-stage development through execution across multiple sites.

Holcim is targeting the capture of approximately 5 million tonnes of CO2 annually from 2030, enabling the production of 8 million tons of near-zero cement each year.

Imran Esmail, incoming CEO of io consulting, said: “We are delighted to support Holcim on this strategically important industrial decarbonisation programme. This award reflects the continued growth of io consulting’s Owner’s Engineering and low-carbon delivery capabilities, alongside our expansion into hard-to-abate sectors including cement, steel, and mining. In addition to supporting the delivery of these carbon capture projects, io consulting will help establish a scalable programme framework across the portfolio, enabling consistency, technical alignment, and repeatable project success across multiple assets in Europe and the UK.”
